TrendSights Research Moves Into Plugin and End-to-End Testing
TrendSights is turning CloudRaven's TOP Sprint research into a governed community-research plugin with explicit scope approval, reviewable runs, and private evidence artifacts.

The original CloudRaven TOP Sprint workspace moved into a more durable product surface: TrendSights, a governed community-research studio and plugin being built to turn a place-based question into a reviewable run and a bounded set of evidence artifacts.
The current focus is testing, not broad release.
Current status: the TrendSights Research plugin package is installed for controlled Codex testing. The source contains a seven-tool MCP contract and eight discoverable research accelerators. One accelerator is currently available to launch; seven remain paused for execution while their required controls are completed.
That distinction matters. A catalog can show useful workflow directions without pretending every path is ready to run.
From TOP Sprint research to an operating system
CloudRaven's TOP Sprint work focused on a difficult question: how should AI systems use Census and other federal open data without separating a confident answer from its provenance?
TrendSights carries that question forward as an operating pattern:
- Confirm the decision context, geography, audience, and intended artifact.
- Inspect the proposed workflow before anything runs.
- Require explicit approval of the canonical research scope.
- Start a bounded research run and expose its status for review.
- List only the artifacts that were actually generated and promoted.
- Create private, expiring download handoffs for approved outputs.
This is deliberately different from an open-ended chatbot. The evidence record is the product.
What the plugin is testing now
The controlled beta centers on a King County, Washington grant-readiness workflow. It is the one currently launchable accelerator because its question, scope, review contract, and output package are defined tightly enough to test together.
The source-present artifact contract covers four private deliverables:
- a DOCX research package;
- a Jupyter notebook;
- a JSON data dictionary; and
- a CSV evidence table.
The system also preserves review state, source context, caveats, statistical reliability notes, and the bindings between the person, workspace, run, artifact row, and stored object.
Those implementation pieces are meaningful, but they are not the same as a production-success claim. A major remaining gate is a complete authenticated path: discover the workflow, inspect and approve its scope, start the run, poll its status, verify every promoted artifact, and exercise the private handoff from the hosted client.
Why seven workflows remain paused
The broader catalog includes community trend analysis, hotspot and corridor review, bounded forecasting, public-health planning evidence, and community decision briefs. They are useful directions, but their governance requirements differ.
If the current scope contract cannot represent a workflow's required review, geography, uncertainty, or source boundary, TrendSights keeps that workflow inspectable and pauses execution. That is a feature of the release model—not a missing status label.
What is not being claimed
TrendSights Research is not yet a generally released plugin or a completed ChatGPT marketplace submission. The current build does not claim that all eight accelerators are launchable, that every artifact path has passed hosted end-to-end acceptance, or that review can be bypassed for speed.
Public distribution, final portal verification, and a broader accelerator catalog remain separate reviewed decisions.
Where TOP fits now
TOP remains part of the story because it established the public-data, provenance, and user-review direction. Active product ownership now sits with TrendSights, where the program has a dedicated surface instead of relying on an expired CloudRaven sign-up announcement.

The next useful milestone is not a bigger claim. It is a complete, signed-in run whose evidence and artifacts can be inspected from start to private handoff.
